Europe Backs Post-War Multinational Security Force for Ukraine

In a high-profile summit in Paris, 26 European nations committed to forming a multinational “reassurance force” (land, air, sea) to support Ukraine once active hostilities cease.

Although largely symbolic at this stage, the plan signals deepening European solidarity with Ukraine and a willingness to provide a security guarantee against future Russian aggression.

The initiative is backed by the U.S., which may soon clarify its role.

Challenges remain: Russia has shown no interest in talks, and some EU states are struggling with internal energy integration and cross-border electricity transmission goals, raising concerns about future stability.
