Gaza Violence Intensifies as Israeli Strikes Kill 50, Including Aid Seekers

At least 50 Palestinians were killed and over 150 others wounded in the past 24 hours as Israeli military operations intensified across the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Among the dead were civilians gathered at a food distribution center, raising fresh concerns about the safety of non-combatants amid the ongoing conflict.

Israeli forces carried out a series of airstrikes and artillery barrages overnight, targeting what they described as militant positions and infrastructure. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the attacks were aimed at “neutralizing immediate threats” following a recent surge in rocket fire directed at southern Israel.

However, local officials and aid organizations report that several of the strikes hit residential areas and humanitarian sites, including a center distributing food to displaced families. Images from the scene show bodies strewn near destroyed aid trucks and emergency responders pulling survivors from the rubble.

“This was a place people came to for food, not war,” said one aid worker on the ground, describing the attack as “devastating and senseless.”

Gaza’s hospitals, already crippled by shortages of medical supplies and electricity, are now overwhelmed by the latest influx of casualties. Doctors Without Borders and other NGOs are calling for immediate international intervention to establish safe zones and allow the delivery of aid.

The escalation comes amid stalled ceasefire negotiations and mounting pressure from global powers to halt the fighting. The United Nations has reiterated its call for restraint and emphasized the need to protect civilian lives and infrastructure under international humanitarian law.

As the conflict grinds on, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen, with over 70% of the population now dependent on aid and thousands displaced from their homes.
