Israeli Offensive Escalates: Massive Destruction and Ceasefire Deal on the Table

Israel has intensified its military operations in Gaza City, demolishing another high-rise building used allegedly by Hamas for surveillance and weapons storage. In the last 24 hours ending September 8, at least 65 Palestinians were killed and 320 were wounded, while four Israeli soldiers also lost their lives.

In response to growing international pressure, the U.S. presented a new ceasefire proposal involving the release of 3,000 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for all remaining hostages and a temporary Israeli withdrawal. While Israel has reportedly accepted the plan, Hamas has rejected it, denouncing the terms as a “humiliating surrender”.
